Coaches requirements

RECREATION AND TRAVEL COACHES:
NJ Youth Soccer (NJYS) has implemented background checks for Recreational and Travel Coaches. Ensuring the highest level of player safety is one of the guiding principles of NJ Youth Soccer. We are committed to protecting the health, safety and security of all players, parents and coaches, and background screening is one of the most important ways we do this.

Coaches will be required to authorize a background check during the registration process administered by the club. The fee for coaches is $15 (paid for by RPSC) . This fee covers the cost of administering the background check as well as provides recreation coaches and clubs the additional benefits of being NJYS members (insurances for example). TRAVEL COACHES REQUIREMENTS:
Coaches and assistants coaches are required to have a clear background check and must complete the Concussion Training as well as the SafeSport Training. Once completed, all certificates must be downloaded and sent to [email protected]

To meet the requirements of the New Jersey law concerning civil liability immunity, every coach must attend a training course. Each coach and assistant coach are required to have a valid USSF coaching license, Class F or higher. You can register to a course by going here. The Club will refund the $45 cost of the training to all current coaches.
