NOTE: If your account is unable to be found during the registration process, please create a new account through the "Register Now" button on the log-in screen. tab on the top right corner of When registering, be sure to use the exact variation of the first name, last name, and date of birth that you have previously used to avoid creating a duplicate account that requires new uploads for all compliance documents. 


All coaches (i.e., travel, recreation, and TOPSoccer) must submit NJYS approved compliance documents
 in their Sports Connect account for verification (if not previously verified), including Coaching Education *(Travel Only), Concussion Education, and annual SafeSport training. See the compliance requirements below:

All adults applying for a coach member pass must also submit and clear a background check every two years (beginning with the 2021-2022 seasonal year) with NJ Youth Soccer. 

**For Recreation organizations that conduct their own background checks, the organization must complete a "Certification of Criminal Background Screening Compliance for Recreational Youth Coaches

travel Coaches Requirements

TRAVEL COACHES REQUIREMENTS: Coaches and assistants are required to have a clear background check and must complete the Concussion Training as well as the SafeSport Training. Once completed, all certificates must be downloaded and sent to [email protected]

To meet the requirements of the New Jersey law concerning civil liability immunity, every coach must attend a training course. Each coach and assistant coach are required to have a valid USSF coaching license, Class F or higher. You can register to a course by going here. The Club will refund the $45 cost of the training to all current coaches.

BACKGROUND CHECKA travel coach must pass an annual NJYS background check (risk status must be approved). Create an account with US Youth Soccer See the following link to learn how to submit your background check:        

All NJYS coaches must complete an annual SafeSport training. This must be dated January 1st, 2020 or later. To access the initial training, click "begin training" to create a SafeSport account. To take the refresher course, click the link below. Once complete, return here to upload your certificates.

A coach must complete the one-time concussion training through CDC Heads Up! or NFHS. Click the link below to take the course. Once complete, return here to upload your certificates.

A travel coach must possess a US Soccer Coaching License or NJYS State Certificate Course. To learn more about these courses, see the link:

You must have your certificates uploaded and an approved risk status before your registrar will be able to activate your team and print passes.

Training Session Plans

Take advantage of this free resource from Massachusetts Youth Soccer. These training sessions have specific themes and are organized by age groups, from U6 - Pre-K/Kinder (4V4) to U14+ 7th/8th grade & older (11v11). The themes and plans follow the US Soccer Grassroots Play-Practice-Play Methodology. Researched and developed by technical leaders, this player-centered approach allows coaches of all levels to help create training environments that fulfill the two basic needs of players of all ages: to have fun and to develop.
