All coaches (i.e., travel, recreation, and TOPSoccer) must submit NJYS approved compliance documents in their Sports Connect account for verification (if not previously verified), including Coaching Education *(Travel Only), Concussion Education, and annual SafeSport training. See the compliance requirements below:

• Coaching Education (No Expiration Date) *Travel Only
• Concussion Education (No Expiration Date)
• SafeSport Training (Annual Requirement - Completion Date after January 1st, 2022)
• Background Check (Every Two Years )**

All adults applying for a coach member pass must also submit and clear a background check every two years (beginning with the 2021-2022 seasonal year) with NJ Youth Soccer. 

**For Recreation organizations that conduct their own background checks, the organization must complete a "Certification of Criminal Background Screening Compliance for Recreational Youth Coaches

TRAVEL COACHES REQUIREMENTS: Coaches and assistants are required to have a clear background check and must complete the Concussion Training as well as the SafeSport Training. Once completed, all certificates must be downloaded and sent to [email protected]

To meet the requirements of the New Jersey law concerning civil liability immunity, every coach must attend a training course. Each coach and assistant coach are required to have a valid USSF coaching license, Class F or higher. You can register to a course by going here. The Club will refund the $45 cost of the training to all current coaches.

SAFESPORT: All NJYS coaches must complete an annual SafeSport training. This must be dated January 1st, 2020 or later. To access the initial training, click "begin training" to create a SafeSport account.
