REC COACHES REQUIREMENTS

REC COACHES REQUIREMENTS: NJ Youth Soccer (NJYS) has implemented background checks for Coaches. Ensuring the highest level of player safety is one of the guiding principles of NJ Youth Soccer. We are committed to protecting the health, safety and security of all players, parents and coaches, and background screening is one of the most important ways we do this.

Coaches will be required to authorize a background check during the registration process administered by the club. The fee for coaches is $15 (paid for by RPSC) . This fee covers the cost of administering the background check as well as provides recreation coaches and clubs the additional benefits of being NJYS members (insurances for example). You can find more information on the NJ Youth Soccer website.

BACKGROUND CHECKA travel coach must pass an annual NJYS background check (risk status must be approved). Create an account with US Youth Soccer https://secure.sportsaffinity.com See the following link to learn how to submit your background check:  https://youtu.be/IRGTTrqnYko .

CONCUSSION TRAINING: A coach must complete the one-time concussion training through CDC Heads Up! or NFHS. Click the link below to take the course. Once complete, return here to upload your certificates.

  • clearer wording for ‘handball’
  • attacking team players must be at least 1m away from a ‘defensive wall’
  • the goalkeeper only has to have one foot on the goal line at a penalty kick
  • a new dropped ball procedure
  • a player being substituted having to leave the field of play at the nearest point on the boundary line
